About Speakman
In 1869 Speakman Company was founded by Allen Speakman and his brother Joseph. They started as a small plumbing and steam fitting shop. In the 1870's, Allen Speakman, the head of the company, realized it was a constant hassle to be unable to find the necessary plumbing supplies locally. He fixed the problem by entering the wholesale plumbing supply trade.
In 1889, the Speakman Supply and Pipe Company officially changed its name by shortening it to its present form, Speakman Company.
